 Rasun D'Anterselva
The two characteristic villages Rasun di Sopra and Rasun di Sotto are situated at the front of the Anterselva Valley, which then develops into a low trough valley in between extensive green fields before reaching Anterselva di Sotto.
Starting from here the valley gets a little bit tighter and rises slightly towards Anterselva di Mezzo and Anterselva di Sopra after which you will reach the marvellous Anterselva Lake (1,640 m).
The surrounding landscape is remarkably impressive: the Vedrette di Ries Aurina (Natural Park) with the famous Collaspro Peak (3,273 m) and Collalto Peak (3,436 m) which are also part of the opposite valley, the Riva di Tures Valley.
Rasun – Valle di Anterselva - Storia The recently discovered remains of a settlement give evidence that the area of Rasun and the Anterselva Valley was already populated around 55 B.C., even though the discovery of an axe from the neolithic period shows that the territory was already populated in previous epochs.
Official village documents date back to 1,050 A.D. when the village`s name was Resine (or Resina) and in later times Rasene.
